Dr. Jayanti Thumsi is one of India's leading Breast Surgical Oncologists with over 24 years of exclusive experience in breast oncology. She completed her MBBS and MS (General Surgery) from Grant Medical College and JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai, and obtained advanced certification in Robotic Nipple-Sparing Mastectomy from Taiwan.
She is the first surgeon in India to perform and establish the Robotic Nipple-Sparing Mastectomy with TiLoop Implant Reconstruction program. Over the course of her career, she has successfully performed more than 8,900 breast surgeries, providing comprehensive breast cancer care through a multidisciplinary approach alongside medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, physiotherapists, and counselors.
In 2014, Dr. Thumsi co-founded the CREST Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to breast oncology research, patient education, and support. She also leads STHREE, a survivor support group consisting of over 950 breast cancer patients and caregivers. Her commitment to public health includes conducting more than 357 breast cancer awareness and screening camps across Karnataka, benefiting over 6.58 lakh women.
Dr. Jayanti Thumsi serves as the Lead Surgical Oncology Consultant and Robotic Surgeon at HCG Cancer Hospital, Hebbal, Bengaluru. She specializes exclusively in breast oncology and offers comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, reconstruction, and survivorship care for patients with breast diseases.
Dr. Thumsi is the first surgeon in India to successfully perform and establish the Robotic Nipple-Sparing Mastectomy with TiLoop Implant Reconstruction program, setting a new benchmark in advanced breast cancer surgery.
As Co-founder of the CREST Foundation, Dr. Thumsi actively promotes breast cancer awareness, screening programs, patient education, research, and rehabilitation initiatives throughout India.
Dr. Thumsi has authored numerous peer-reviewed national and international publications on breast oncology, breast cancer outcomes, genomic research, preventive oncology, and multidisciplinary cancer management. Her research has been published in reputed journals including Journal of Clinical Oncology, Journal of Cancer Policy, PeerJ, International Immunopharmacology, and other leading scientific publications. She has also presented award-winning research at major global oncology conferences, including the European Breast Cancer Conference (EBCC) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
