Dr. Prabhu Nesargikar is a highly experienced Surgical Oncologist, GI Surgeon, and Bariatric Surgeon with extensive international training and expertise in gastrointestinal cancer surgery. His areas of specialization include gastrointestinal oncology, bariatric surgery, advanced endoscopic procedures, and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
He has received advanced specialist training in the United Kingdom, Singapore, and South Korea, making him one of the few surgeons in India with international expertise in gastrointestinal cancers, peritoneal malignancies, bariatric surgery, and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. He previously served as Associate Consultant in Upper GI Cancer and Bariatric Surgery at the National University Hospital, Singapore.
Dr. Prabhu currently practices as a Surgical Oncology Consultant at HCG Cancer Centre, Bengaluru and serves as the Clinical Lead of the Lifestyle, Obesity and GI Care (LOGIC) Division. He is committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care through advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Dr. Prabhu specializes in the surgical management of gastrointestinal cancers, obesity, and complex gastrointestinal disorders using laparoscopic, robotic, and advanced endoscopic procedures.
Dr. Prabhu has completed the Leadership and Management Programme from NHS Scotland and is a passionate advocate for patient safety and human factors in surgery. He has contributed extensively to surgical education by mentoring trainees, teaching postgraduate students, and presenting scientific research at international conferences.
Dr. Prabhu has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading international medical journals focusing on gastrointestinal oncology, bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, patient safety, surgical education, and translational research. His work has been published in renowned journals including the British Journal of Surgery, British Journal of Anaesthesia, World Journal of Surgery, Clinical Case Reports, International Journal of Surgery, and several other high-impact scientific publications.
